Our story

Born in Nairobi.
Rooted in friendship.

Rafiki means “friend” in Swahili. We design journeys so you experience East Africa the way we do — as welcomed guests, not just tourists.

Who we are

Local guides.
Global standards.

We began as a small group of Kenyan guides who wanted visitors to see the real East Africa — beyond the crowded lodges and standard itineraries.

Today Rafiki Safaris crafts private and small-group journeys across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. We combine wildlife, culture, landscapes and the quiet moments that stay with you long after you return home.

Every itinerary is carbon-offset and a portion of every booking supports community conservancies and local guides.

What we stand for

Our values

Friendship first

We treat every traveler as a guest in our home. Relationships matter more than transactions.

Respect for land

Low-impact travel, carbon offsets, and support for conservancies that protect the ecosystems we love.

Local knowledge

Our guides grew up here. They know the tracks, the seasons, the stories, and the quiet corners most visitors never reach.
